Port of Barcelona (Spain)

In 2022, the Sydron project received a prestigious invitation to display the concept of its first prototype, the Sydron Model 2 designed for two-person transportation. This first presentation took place at the Smartports.tv Congress—an influential gathering focused on innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation. This platform brought together some of the world’s most forward-thinking ports, offering insights into innovative projects spanning Drones, Digital Twins, Green Smart Ports, and Smart Port Cities. The goal was to collectively shape a vision for a future marked by sustainability, efficiency, and connectivity.

Building on the momentum, the Port of Barcelona played a pivotal role in supporting the physical product demonstration of Sydron’s concept models—Model 2 and Model 1—at the Innovation Area of the Smart City World Congress Expo 2023. This high-profile event, held from 7th to 9th November in Barcelona, stands as the largest and most influential gathering in urban innovation globally. The exhibition showcased Sydron’s technological advancements within the context of smart and sustainable urban development.

Looking ahead, the Port of Barcelona is ready to play a crucial role in facilitating strategic partnerships for Sydron. This includes engagement with national authorities, individual states, and presentations to esteemed business partners such as the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Port of Hamburg, Port of Montreal, Port of Rotterdam, and Port of Busan. Furthermore, the Port of Barcelona aims to showcase the Sydron product to city and country authorities, paving the way for future collaborations.

The success of the collaboration between SYDRON and the Port of Barcelona owes much to the support provided by Marina Port Vell, an exclusive superyacht marina in Barcelona.

In summary, the Port of Barcelona’s commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and connectivity in the maritime and transportation sectors is evident through its active support of the Sydron project. This collaboration not only highlights the advancements within Sydron but also underscores the Port of Barcelona’s pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation and smart ports.
